Avanti is a different breed of car rental company, not affiliated with any of the large international agencies. They own their fleet, have their own mechanics own staff, they claim to have eliminated the extensive airport fee you pay with most rental companies and they will pick you up from any San Jose hotel or the airport.

Insurance is mandatory unless you can provide proof your insurance covers car rentals in Costa Rica. Insurance rates may add between $5 up to over $25 per day depending in model selected and age of drivers.
