Bosque de Paz Cloud Forest Biological Reserve

This reserve protects 400 hectares of forests full of exotic animals and is a favorite of bird-watchers. Hike the trails past waterfalls and through botanical gardens buzzing with hummingbirds. Later, head for the lodge, and after a delicious meal of local dishes, try to spot the Quetzals that perch in the trees nearby. Reservations required.

- How to get there ?
- Take Highway #1 going to Naranjo. Once in Naranjo follow the signs to Zarcero. At the lower corner of the park in Zarcero, turn right and keep driving for 10 miles to Bajos del Toro Amarillo, Palmira and Pueblo Nuevo. From there you only 1/4 of a mile to Bosque de Paz.
- When to go?
- This place can be visited all year round. Have in mind that you will be visiting a rain forests, therefore rain coats are recommended.
