Cocos Island Marine National Park

Cocos Island, situated midway between Costa Rica and the Galapagos Islands, 550 km (330 mi.) from the Pacific shore of Costa Rica, is indeed a place full of nature wonders. The island is wildlife rich in both land and water. Due to its size, isolation, and conservation state, Cocos Island becomes one the privileged nature sites around the world.

The landscape is decorated by an evergreen forest where spectacular waterfalls emerge. Several endemic plant species are just waiting for researchers. Marine life in the waters around the island is particularly abundant. Surrounded by deep waters with counter-currents, it is admired by scuba divers for its populations of Hammerhead sharks, rays and dolphins.

A top place to visit for the adventurous.
