A perfect suitable name for this beach. Yes! Chonchal which means “lots of sea shells”, honors its name by the real existence of millions of crushed shells all over this 500 meters beach. Ideal for swimming and snorkeling, the clear waters will invite you to spend as much time as possible here. Be careful, a deep step into the water when going in will take down, but soon after you will be stable.

Except for one high class beach resort, there are no accommodations available here. Tamarindo at 10 minutes from here will have an option for all kind of budgets.

Located north of the Tamarindo area, about ten minutes. Follow the signs from there to Brasilito and Conchal. When you get to Brasilito, you have to cross Brasilito beach on low tide and go up hill on a pretty bad road that requires a 4WD. Don’t leave your car in Brasilito because of thieves.
