He specializes in reconstructive and esthetic plastic surgery, and microsurgery. He performed his port-graduate work at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami Florida. He is currently the Chief of Plastic Surgery at Clinica Biblica in Costa Rica, one of the best private hospitals in Central America.

Dr. Da Cruz is a member (and in some cases a founder) of numerous international associations related to plastic surgery, and serves as an associate professor of plastic surgery at the Universidad Hispanola in Costa Rica.
