Playa Grande

This beach break is recognized as one of the 5 best surf beaches in Guanacaste. Even when crowded, there are plenty of great lefts and rights to have fun with. The extension of the beach is approximately 3 km.

On the other hand, from late September to March is the Baula (Leatherback) nesting season. The only times that they are on land is when the female turtles lay eggs, and when hatchlings emerge from the nest and make their way to ocean. This is an amazing event that can be seen under the direction of Las Baulas National Park which accomplishes a well planned strategy to care for the turtle nesting activity.

Due to being part of a NAtional Park, there are not many hotels in the area, but the ones available offer afordable prices. Anothe option is to stay in Tamarindo.
