Junquillal Beach

This beach offers quite and tranquil surroundings compared to many of the beaches around. Is one of the quieter beaches in Guanacaste and a real find for seekers of tranquility. You can camp outside or stay at some of the nice reasonable accommodations available. The beach is recommended for surfing and fishing

During December and January Junquillal receives the arrival of a considerable number of Leatherback turtles that come nest their eggs here. Efforts are being made to keep this event safe from egg poachers.

How to get there ?
Junquillal is 35 km south west from Santa Cruz, Guanacaste. To get to Santa Cruz you can come from Liberia at north or from Nicoya at south. Once in Santa Cruz follow the signs to Junquillal.
When to go?
In this area weather conditions are sunny and hot most of the year. However, the best time to visit is in the dry season: December to April.
