Martinair is one of the few airlines to ofer direct flights to Costa Rica (well a one-stopper but no changing planes). As of Dec 2007 Martinair flies in and out of San Jose from Amsterdam 2 days each week, stopping in Miami and continuing on to its destination. This 'one stopper' is probably your quickest way to get to Costa Rica from Europe and vice versa. You can choose either Standard Coach, or Comfort Class. Tickets purchased in advance can be quite reasonably priced for both classes.
