Nancite beach along with Ostional beach, is one of the world's largest nesting grounds for Olive Ridley sea turtles. The “arribadas”, is when hundreds of thousands of turtles arrive to lay their eggs, are primarily from July through November. Out of the rough ocean of Nancite beach, turtles arrive usually in the early dawn to lay their eggs, in this way providing the highest tides for the hatchlings.
