Platanares is 5 km south of Puerto Jimenez. You can get to Puerto Jimenez via airplane from San Jose or driving on highway #2 all the way to Chacarita. Here take the exit to Puerto Jimenez. Another way to get there is taking a ferry boat from Golfito to Puerto Jimenez.
