The Zancudo-Golfito region is particularly famous for its great variety of fishing, and over 40 IGFA world records have been established there. Species regularly caught include tuna, amberjack, jack crevalle, grouper, cubera, barracuda, roosterfish, corvina, snook and many more. They have boated yellowfin tuna to 400 pounds in the area.
