Starting as a small fishing village, Tamarindo Beach has become the number one beach destination in Guanacaste. It is filled with high dollar condominiums, restaurants, shopping and of course, tourists. The beach is long and beautiful with great surf breaks and swimming areas. How to get there ?
You can get to Tamarindo in different ways.
From Liberia take road #21 west to Filadelfia, Belén, Huacas and Tamarindo. Unfortunately from Belén to Huacas the road is in pretty bad condition.

You can also travel from Santa Cruz if you come from Nicoya. Follow the signs to Tamarindo, the road is in much better condition.

Fligths are also available from San Jose and Liberia.
When to go?
Guanacaste weather is good most of the time year round. However, the best time to visit is in the dry season: December to April.
