Tambor Beach

Playa Tambor is well known as a great family beach due to it's calm waters and inviting sandy beach. Hotel Barceló Playa Tambor is the major resort on the beach offering all-inclusive packages. Next door is the Los Delfines resort with a small but fun-to-play golf course. The area is dotted with other small hotels and restaurants.

How to get there ?
There are two options to arrive at Tambor. The first is to take the Panquera ferryboat in Puntarenas. There are several schedules every 4 hours starting at 6:30 a.m., until 10:30 p.m. From Paquera drive 30 minutes following the road signs to Tambor.

The second option is to drive toward Canas and take the Puente Amistad (Friendship Bridge). Driving north you will see the turnoff on your left off the Pan American Highway. Then follow the signs to Tambor.
When to go?
The weather is sunny and hot most of the time year round. However, the best time to visit is in the dry season: December to April.
